Liturgies
Last week Year 3 led us in a beautiful liturgy on the theme of ‘happiness’. It certainly was a wonderful way to start our week and the dance at the end of the liturgy certainly made us happy. This week, Kinder led the school in our Monday liturgy. This was a wonderful chance for us to see how far these little people have come throughout a crazy first year of school. The engagement through Facebook certainly suggests we would have had a large audience if visitors were permitted. Even as an adult it can be daunting to see all of those faces looking at you, so, well done Kindergarten on a fantastic job!
Mrs Hingston
As most of you will undoubtedly know by now, Mrs Hingston is almost due to have her baby. This will be a life changing event for Rachael and Marc, but all in the very best of ways. Parenthood is hard, scary and exhausting, but it is also full of love, a love for which there is no comparison! All members of the OLV community wish them well in the coming few weeks as they prepare for this new bundle of joy to enter their lives.
Mrs Noble will remain teaching Year 1 on Mondays and Tuesdays and Miss Teagan Payton will be teaching Year 1 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays until the end of the year.
Mr V
Mr V is enjoying his rehab (and chance to relax) after knee surgery so much that he has decided to extend his leave until the beginning of Term 4. Ms McGann will continue in the Acting Principal role and Mrs Dunn will continue in the Acting Assistant Principal role until the end of the term.

Importance of getting to school on time
As you are all aware, our gates are locked as soon as the first bell goes at 8:55am. It is extremely important that all students are at school prior to this time. Over the last two weeks Mrs Fry has certainly clocked up her steps, having to open the gate to students who are late and sign them in. It makes it very difficult for your child if they are walking in half way through a lesson due to being late as they miss the instructional part of the lesson.

Aussie Aussie Aussie
Congratualtions and a big Oi, Oi, Oi to Asalie Hagenimana (father of Joyce, Jimmy and Junior) who will be making his Pledge of Commitment to becoming an Australian citizen tomorrow. After helping the rest of his family become citizens in the last couple of years, it is finally his turn to become a "True Blue" Aussie.
WELCOME TO THE FOLD, ASSALIE :)
Returning Term 4
Whilst I am enjoying a slow, successful recovery, it is upon doctor's orders that I remain away till the beginning of Term 4. It has been an interesting journey, not without is setbacks, but mostly progressing forward. Thanks to all the well wishes I have received. They have kept my spirits up and I look forward to being back at school next term -- though I am not sure I will kicking a soccer ball at lunch time for a while yet.
Enjoy the rest of the term and have a restful break.
