ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
We are looking forward to holding our first carnival in three years later this month. The children will have the opportunity to display their skills in running, throwing and jumping. We will be competing at the Fearnley Dawes Athletics Centre on Friday 24 June. We will travel to and from the venue by bus.
The children will be programmed in all events and may withdraw if they do not wish to participate. So, please talk to your children about which events they would like to have a go.
Our infants (5-7 year old) will compete in 70m, 100m, shot put and long jump.
Juniors (8-10 year olds) and Seniors (11-13year olds) will compete in 100m, 200m, 800m, shot put and long jump.
We will be looking for some helpers to assist with timekeeping and measuring on the day, so if you are able to help out please indicate on the COMPASS return going out next week.
We will be sharing the day with the children from Corpus Christi, Waratah. They will be running their events alternating between our events, not competing against our children.
The first two placegetters (juniors and seniors) in each event will be invited to represent the school at the Regional carnival the following week.
If the weather cooperates, it should be a great day.
