School Sleepout

Last Thursday night we had our School sleepout. We started the night with a chat about homeless people then had a hot chocolate and watched a movie. I would like to thank Mr V and Miss Payton for helping me supervise the children during the night. The following morning we were all up bright and early the children packing up their sleeping gear with the help of Mr V and Miss Payton and I organising breakfast, cereal and scrambled eggs on toast. By about 7:30am most children were keen and eager to start school. I would like to thank the rest of the staff for helping with the cleaning up.

We had a very relaxed day wearing our Pyjama’s to school topping the day off with a sausage sizzle cooked with a lot of love by Year 5 students. Thank you very much Year 5 we all enjoyed our sausage sizzle.

Total Raised for the Sleep out, Sausage Sizzle and the Pyjama Day was $1869.75

Corpus Christi

Last Sunday we celebrated the solemnity of Corpus Christi (Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ). This solemnity highlights the central place that Eucharist has in our Catholic faith. Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic Faith. It is the source of our life in Christ and the nourishment as we live out our Christian vocation as missionary disciples in the world. This is why we gather week after week for Mass. It is nothing less than to be nourished by Christ: firstly in the Word of God and then by the ‘Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity’ of Jesus in holy Communion. It is a celebration in which the one sacrifice of Christ on the Cross for our salvation is made present upon the Altar during the Eucharistic celebration. It is in this union with Christ that we are strengthened and nourished and then sent forth to live Christ’s mission in the world.
