WELCOME BACK

It's always great to return to work at OLV after a break. The children are so full of stories and excitement and ready to share stories and experiences. It sounds like everyone had a great break and are ready for the run to Christmas.

NEW STAFF

We have 3 new teachers who started this week. We welcome:

Miss Jazmin Jones in Year 1  - replacing Mrs Fren.

Mr Patrick Moran will be working with Mrs Deegan to share the Year 6 class - replacing Mr Fren

Mrs Stephanie Sturgess is taking on the RFF role, teaching CAPA to all classes - replacing Mr Fren

I am sure you will make them feel welcome as you always do for our new school members.

NAPLAN RESULTS

Parents of our Year 3 and Year 5 should have received the results of their children's NAPLAN Assessment this week. Please let us know if you haven't received them. If you have any questions or concerns please make contact with your child's teacher.

NEW ENTRANCE

Our new entrance is almost complete. We are just waiting for the hand rails for the stairs, a new intercom to be connected and new signage on the wall. 

You are now welcome to use the path into the office and for pick ups in the afternoon. No need for the long hike to the bottom gate. If you are visiting the school you will need to check in at the office as usual. It is preferred that children arriving in the morning do so via the bottom Lovell Pde gate.

ASPIRE EXCURSION

The children in Year 4 to 6 will be attending the Diocesan ASPIRE production of DISCONNECTED. This production is prepared and performed by the talented staff and students of the Diocese. The productions are always spectacular and a great showcase of the wonderful talent developed in our Catholic School system. Please confirm your permission and payment through the appropriate APPs .

If your child is in Year 4, 5 or 6 with talents in singing, dancing, acting our playing a musical instrument and would like to be considered for one of these production, lookout for the auditions for 2025 coming up later this year.

SOO 2024

Well done to NSW this year. A very strong showing dominated the Maroons this year and deserved their series win.

Pity I couldn't go out on a winning note, but it should be noted that during my time the score was 19 series to 11. I'm happy with that.
