NEW ENTRANCE

Our new entrance is complete so we will be going back to our full security procedures to enter and leave the school.

Upon arrival after 9am visitors should enter the office via the intercom. Upon identification, the gate will be released, and visitors should PUSH the gate to enter and report immediately to the office to sign in at the kiosk. Please close the gate behind you and the ensure the gate reengages. When leaving after signing out, the gate will be released and you have about 5 seconds to PULL the gate open, otherwise press the intercom button again to have the gate released.

Those using the OOSH service before and after school should follow the same procedures from Tuesday.

STRANGER DANGER

stranger_danger.jpgThere was much to-ing and fro-ing on social media recently about a strange car identified in our area which was involved in an incident last week. Parents are reminded to discuss with their children the need and ways to keep safe when approached by a stranger. Teachers have been following this up in their classes as well.

UNIFORM SHOP

uniform_shop.jpg
For those looking for the little extra bits and pieces to supplement your child’s uniforms, we provide a second hand “shop” for parents. It is open on Tuesday mornings from 8:45am to 9:15am and again on Wednesday afternoons from 2:45pm to 3:15pm. It is CASH OR EFT ONLY. Most items can be purchased for as little as $5. They have been washed and ironed before being made available.

Any uniforms can be tried on in the uniform shop before purchasing. All payments are to be made on the day of purchase.

If you have any outgrown pieces of the uniform, feel free to send it in to school cleaned and pressed so we can add it to the stock.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

public_speaking.jpgPublic Speaking is a skill that we encourage in all children, and as part of our normal curriculum. To encourage and extend those that show an interest and talent in this area, we encourage them to enter the Regional Public Speaking Competition. To find the two entrants to represent our school, interested children will be putting themselves forward on FRIDAY 16 AUGUST to be for selected. We will be choosing 2 representatives from each Stage. The children have been preparing in their classes for the trials and will be on stage in the hall from 11:20. Parents are welcome to join us.

WATER SAFTETY INCURSION

On Thursday, 22 August, we will be visited by the City of Newcastle’s Water Safety Team who will take the children through an educational program aimed at preventative measures and basic fundamentals of open water,  beach & pool safety.

Infants will be involved from 12noon and primary from 12:40pm the hall. Parents are welcome to sit in if they wish.
